Atahualpa Yupanqui (1908-1992) was a legendary Argentine guitarist,singer and composer.
His birth name was Héctor Aramburu - his stage name was a tribute to two Incan kings.
El Adios is a zamba and the version for guitar was made by Pablo Anapios.

I’ve always thought that Bachs cellosuites works just as well on the guitar or even better,than the so called lute suites. By the way-cello suite No 5 and the lute suite in g-minor is the same piece. Here is the Allemande from the second cello suite. I play it in g-minor and it also works perfectly in a-minor on 6-str guitar. I play my 11-str alto guitar made by Georg Bolin in 1974

This beautiful aria is from Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel’s opera Diomedes. But it’s probably best known in the version for voice and continuo from the 1725 ’Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach’. That’s also the version I used to make this arrangement.

This amazing piece from 1717 is a typical example of a harpsichord composer writing in a way in which a lute player would have been playing. It was called ’style brisé’ (broken style). Mr. Sollscher, Do you have intention on publishing your Bach transcriptions for the 11 string alto guitar? Or do you follow the tablature for the archlute?
Sorry but I have no intension to publish these arrangements . Very often I write down my arrangements in french tabulature-it’s very convinient.

I have been following you since some outsorting in Gävle bibliotek in the middle of the 1980s. There I came over Greensleeves and some other LPs. I though I had a descent view of the Swedish musicians of the time, (late 1700s) but this was something new.. So incredibly beautiful
